A lecture by Prof. Dr. Annelou van Gijn. Her research focuses on prehistoric technology, ancient crafts and the reconstruction of the cultural biography of objects using experimental archeology and microscopy. She is one of the leading specialists in microwear and as such participates in several international projects.

Investigating Domestic Craft and Subsistence Activities through Experiments and Material Analysis Leiden University currently coordinates the project 鈥淧utting Life in Neolithic Houses鈥. This will take until 2025 and is funded by the Dutch Research Council NWO. Besides 媚姬直播, there are other nine partners in this project.

Ancient Paints and Pigments

Come along and learn about Ancient Paints and earth pigments. During this workshop we will learn how people made paints from coloured minerals and brushes from foraged natural materials throughout prehistory and history, mainly between the stone age and the Vikings.
