For historical-archaeological brewers, we gather for our monthly chat. It is open access and will include links and discussion about craft brewing - you decide what will be on the table! The chat starts at 15:00h CET (Amsterdam time) and may take about 1.5 hours.

A special experience for families to join the ancient midwinter celebration of the Holly King. In the dark, cold days of midwinter the holly tree grows green in the forest. When the summer trees have lost their leaves, the Holly King stands guard over the forest and its birds and animals, caring for them during the winter.

Join us to celebrate the evening of Samhain in the magical surroundings of the Great Roundhouse at Butser Ancient Farm. Between 7-10pm you will enjoy professional storytelling from Jonathon Huet of and a bar with local ales, mead and soft drinks.

Discover life in Anglo-Saxon England! Meet a warband of Saxons from Herigeas Hundas as they take over our Saxon halls in an immersive weekend of combat displays, battles, living history, and more.

Don’t miss the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Dark Ages for an evening of outdoor performance at Butser Ancient Farm this September with Herigeas Hundas Saxon reenactment group.

How did people explain the world to their children 1000, 5000 or 10,000 years ago? Were earth and water separated, were there battles between monsters or did a cow lick someone out of the ice? In a tour we deal with myths and stories about beginnings and origins. There are sources from the Middle Ages, Iron and Bronze Ages that echo how people explain the world to themselves and to others.

Here we go!!! Saturday 22th August ′′Forcello under the stars′′ is back, an evening with history, culture, music and some gastronomic specialties in light of flashlights.

It opens at 19.30 pm and from 20.00 pm guided night tours of the Casa dei Pesi da Frame. At 21.30 pm live music with Pandorini's Band.

The basic forging techniques are taught in a one-day workshop. You will learn what is important in the individual work steps and make a knife based on the Iron Age model and a fibula.
